Our Purpose
At SentinelOne, we are driven by a clear purpose: to give the advantage to those who secure our future. As AI reshapes how organizations build, operate, and innovate, the responsibility to protect them becomes more critical than ever. When you join SentinelOne, your work helps protect global enterprises, critical infrastructure, and the technologies shaping tomorrow. If you are motivated by meaningful challenges and want your impact to be real, measurable, and global, you will find purpose here.
About Us
SentinelOne is a company at the intersection of AI and security, pioneering a new operating model for cybersecurity. Our AI-native platform unifies protection across endpoint, cloud, identity, data, and AI systems to deliver autonomous detection and response with clarity and speed. By combining real-time analytics, intelligent automation, and a unified data foundation, we reduce noise, simplify complexity, and empower security teams to focus on what truly matters.
Our teams are builders, problem-solvers, and innovators committed to shaping the future of security. If you are excited to solve hard problems alongside talented, mission-driven people, we invite you to help us build a safer future for humanity.
What Are We Looking For?
Weβre looking for people who are relentlessly curious and committed to continuous learning. AI is reshaping every function across our business, and we enable every team member, regardless of role or level, to build fluency in AI tools and concepts. Those who thrive here actively seek out new solutions, experiment thoughtfully, and apply what they learn to drive better, faster, smarter outcomes.
As a Director, Software Engineering, Agent Platform, you will be tasked with leading the Agent Platform organization, which owns the control plane that every SentinelOne agent depends on: agent communication and configuration, agent management and health, and the detection services that turn agent telemetry into customer protection. When this platform is healthy, the rest of the product works; when it is not, customers feel it immediately. This is a US-based role leading a distributed organization of roughly 45 engineers across four teams in the Czech Republic, Israel, India and the United States, where you will own delivery, operational health and the customer- and executive-facing side of the domain in US business hours, and partner closely with the SaaS Platform architecture group driving the re-architecture of the platform.
This role requires candidates to be based in the EST or CST time zones, given the required overlap with globally distributed engineering teams.
What Will You Do?
Primary responsibilities include:
Own the domain end to end, including delivery, operational health, quality and roadmap commitments for the Agent Platform organization.
Drive reliability by continuing the reliability program already under way: reduce incident inflow, close corrective actions against a clock, and build the observability that catches problems before customers do.
Lead and grow managers: four engineering managers across three geographies report into this role. Develop them, hold a consistent bar, and build leadership depth in the organization.
Represent the domain to executives and customers, owning executive communication during incidents and in regular forums, and engaging directly with enterprise, MSSP and federal customers on platform questions.
Partner across the platform with the agent and endpoint organizations, the SaaS Platform architecture group, Product Management and SRE to land cross-domain outcomes.
Execute the re-architecture: the domain is part-way through moving from a monolithic control plane to a set of regional, horizontally scalable services, and onto a modern container-based deployment model. Own the delivery of that transition for your teams, while keeping the existing platform running for customers throughout.
Plan capacity and headcount, balancing reliability, re-architecture and feature delivery, and make the trade-offs explicit to Product and to leadership.
Build US presence by growing senior engineering capability in the US alongside the existing teams, so the domain has depth in US hours.
Deliver on what success looks like in the first year: incident inflow for the domain is materially lower and the trend is sustained, with corrective actions closing inside the target window rather than accumulating; leadership and customers get a clear, proactive picture of the domain's health, and problems surface from the team before they surface elsewhere; major milestones in the move to scalable, regionally deployed services and the modernisation of the deployment platform are delivered, without regressions visible to customers; the four teams operate predictably against their plans, and the managers are visibly stronger; and US senior engineering presence in the domain has grown.
What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?
Ideal candidates will have:
Distributed leadership: demonstrated success leading engineering teams across multiple time zones and cultures, with concrete examples of how you made it work rather than worked around it, through clear ownership, strong written communication, deliberate overlap, and trust built without being in the same room.
Operational ownership: experience running a high-availability SaaS platform in production, including incident command, root cause discipline, SLOs, and turning a poor reliability trend around with data.
Technical depth: a strong background in distributed backend systems at scale, including cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, data stores and multi-tenancy, with the ability to hold a credible technical conversation with staff engineers and architects, and to tell a well-reasoned design from a weak one.
Executive and customer communication: the ability to give leadership an accurate picture, including when the accurate version is the worse-sounding one, and to represent engine
